You shake it. Stretch it. Move it. Maybe hang it off the side of the bed. Anything to make the tingling stop. And lately, you pick up your coffee with the other hand — because you don't completely trust this one. If that sounds familiar, you're not imagining it. And you're not making too much of it. Sometimes that pattern is a nerve being crowded at the wrist. Nine tendons and one nerve share one tight tunnel. When pressure builds, the nerve complains — often at night first. That doesn't automatically mean surgery. If it comes and goes, a night splint that keeps your wrist straight may help. But if numbness stays — or you're dropping things — get it checked.
